62% Gets Credit In Maths, English As NECO Releases SSSCE Results

Management of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the 2018 November/December Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, SSSCE, for external candidates.

Acting Registrar of NECO, Abubakar Gana, in a statement in Abuja, on Friday, said a total of 59,963 candidates applied to seat for the examination and were examined in about 28 subject areas.

A further breakdown by NECO revealed that a total of 37,069 candidates representing 62.48 per cent who sat for the exams got five credits and above while 47,031 candidates, representing 79.27 per cent got five credits and above, irrespective of English and Mathematics.

Further analysis in terms of performance of candidates, showed a margin of 57,842 who sat for English Language out of which 44,497, representing 76.93 got either distinction or credit.

The examination body noted that “57,275 sat for Mathematics, out of which 47, 151 representing 82.32% got either distinction or credit.
