Emeka Ihedioha, governor of Imo state, has denied destroying a tower built by Rochas Okorocha, his predecessor. In a statement on Thursday, Steve Osuji, special adviser to the governor on media, said angry residents of the state, who saw no significance in the monument, attempted to pull it down.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Accountant-General of Imo State, Uzoho Casmir, for allegedly helping Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, to launder N1.05bn for the governorship and assembly elections on Saturday.
Also suspended by the APC NWC over anti-party activities are the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani and the Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mr. Osita Okechukwu. Both governors, including that of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu had been accused of anti-party activities, with several stalwarts in their states petitioning the party leadership and asking for severe sanctions.
