Nigeria, according to the official, has continued to retain its top ranking as the number one source of African students studying in the U. S. with over 16,000 students as at March pursuing their educational goals.
Recall that the board had earlier confirmed March 16 as the date approved for the examination. According to the Nation, the management of the board is currently in a meeting to come up with a new date for the examinations.

The National Universities Commission (NUC), has dismissed claims of new ranking of universities in the country, saying it had not ranked the nation’s universities in the last 14 years. Prof. Abubakar Rashid, its Executive Secretary, in an address at the 3rdCombined Convocation of the Bingham University, Karu in Nasarawaa State, urged members of the public to disregard recent rankings said to have been done by the NUC. The purported ranking published in the conventional and social media is false, fake and not from the NUC. It is meant to deceive members of the public and should be disregarded.
Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President, said in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that the union would communicate its decision on offers made by the government on Tuesday. Ogunyemi said that contrary to some media reports, the media reports, the union did not reject the offer of federal government or make fresh demands. Bowen University in Iwo, Osun State, has announced the expulsion of 29 students from the institution. The university also placed 26 others on indefinite suspension, according to a statement signed by the institution’s Registrar, Dr Kayode Ogunleye. The statement, published on January 3 on the school’s website, contained the names and matriculation numbers of the expelled and suspended students.
