GoT star is returning to action, three months after his hit series came to an end. After being a part of a fantasy drama for over a decade, Kit Harington has now joined Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of superhero group The Eternals.
On Saturday, Marvel Studios made the big announcement at D23 expo. Interestingly, Kit Harington will join his GoT co-star Richard Madden (who played Robb Stark) for The Eternals. Apart from Kit, Angelina Jolie will also star in the superhero film.
Kit Harington will star as Dane Whitman, also known as Black Knight.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige invited the cast of The Eternals on stage during the event. Apart from Kit Harington, the film also stars Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee and Angelina Jolie.
For the unversed, the Eternals are an immortal alien race created by supremely powerful humanoid beings called Celestials. They possess godlike power and are supposed to be beautiful. They were sent to Earth to protect the Earth from their arch enemies, The Deviants, who are deformed and hideous creatures.
The Eternals is based on the Marvel comics of the same name. Angelina Jolie plays the role of Thena, Game Of Thrones star Richard Madden plays Ikaris, who is an Eternal fuelled by cosmic energy. Salma Hayek plays Ajak, the leader of the Eternals.
The film is set to hit the screens in November 2020.
