Football star, Cristiano Ronaldo has been reportedly asked to submit a DNA sample as part of the police investigation into his Las Vegas rape case.
We learn that the Juventus star is cooperating with the police 100%.
It would be recalled we previously reported, the Las Vegas Metro PD has reopened the investigation into claims made by Kathryn Mayorga that Ronaldo sexually assaulted her in his hotel room back in 2009.
She first went to the police in 2009 to make a report but didn’t name Ronaldo out of fear of retaliation. However, she filed a new lawsuit some few months ago against him alleging that Ronaldo and his team of “fixers”
coerced her into signing a settlement at the time.
She was reportedly paid N136,687,500 ($375k) in exchange for her silence. When the lawsuit went public, police reopened the case considering that the name of the alleged assailant was now known.
We learn that as part of the renewed investigation, the police went to Ronaldo within the last week and asked for a DNA sample as part of a standard sexual assault investigation protocol.
Ronaldo who has steadily maintained his innocence and denied any wrongdoing is said to be cooperating with investigators to prove his innocence.
It would be recalled that the 33-year-old proposed to his girlfriend and baby mama, Georgina Rodriguez late last year. The proposal came a year after they welcomed their baby daughter, Alana Martina. Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been living together in Italy prior to the proposal
